Mythological story of Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga
According to Hindu mythology, there was a Brahmin named Sudharma who lived with his wife Sudeha. They loved each other very much but they had no children.
So Sudeha asked her husband to marry her younger sister Ghushma but he did not agree to it. Finally he had to bow down to his wife and married Ghushma.
Ghushma was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and was always immersed in the devotion of Lord Shiva. She used to make 101 Shivlingas of Lord Shiva daily and worship them and then immerse them in the river.
After some time, Ghushma gave birth to a son, but her sister could not see this and killed him and threw him in the same pond, but Ghushma became sad and started praying to Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva was pleased with her devotion and revived her son and got ready to kill her sister, but Ghushma prayed to forgive her sister and prayed to establish himself there for the welfare of the people, which Lord Shiva could not refuse and Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga established himself there as “Lord of Compassion”.

Monsoon season (July to September) – Due to monsoon there is greenery all around, which makes the surrounding view very beautiful but your visit is hampered due to excessive rain.
During this time the month of Shravan comes which is very dear to Lord Shiva and devotees come in large numbers to visit.
Summer season (April to June) – This season is not the best for visiting, during this time one has to face heat but still you can visit the temple in the morning and evening.
