Kainchi Dham: The Sacred Ashram of Neem Karoli Baba in Uttarakhand

Kainchi Dham, also known as Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, is located about 17 km from Nainital and 9 km from Bhawali on the Nainital-Almora road in Uttarakhand. Established by Saint Neem Karoli Baba in the 1960s, this holy place attracts millions of devotees and travelers for peace, blessings, spirituality and meditation.

The nearest railway station to Kainchi Dham is located about 40 km from the Ashram which is Kathgodam Railway Station, from here onwards the journey is covered by regular buses or taxis.

By Road

Best Time to Visit

Although Kainchi Dham is open throughout the year and devotees can visit anytime, but the best time to visit the ashram is considered to be May-June (before monsoon) and September to November (after monsoon).

The best day for devotees is considered to be 15th June because on this day the annual Pratishtha Day is celebrated.

Seasonal Attractions

Summer (March-June): This is the most pleasant season for devotees. Due to being a hilly area, the weather is neither too hot nor too cold at this time.

Monsoon (July-August): Due to monsoon, the entire hill is covered with greenery at this time, the weather becomes even more beautiful, but due to heavy rains the journey can be challenging and there is a danger of landslides.

Winter (December-February): Due to being a hilly area, this season becomes very cold, but it is the best time for devotees who are looking for a peaceful environment.
